Having more thoughts on the design front in relation to the "Frankenstein" (as one guitar shop tech put it), until the final body is made to order (to my design, shape and made to fit all the existing hardware) I'm gonna have to comprimise the image of it. As it stands I want to mount the bridge humbucker within the black mounting ring supplied with it, and the scratchplate to form around it. Unfortunately in the stock body I bought theres not enough material around that part of the cavity to allow us to do that without fearing that somethings gonna give and send the whole thing inwards and right royally fuck up. So, if I comprimise with this bit for now, I feel I can fix it later with the proper custom made body. It may be a small price to pay just now but perhaps I can create the illusion of what I can see in my minds eye, vinyl. You heard me, if I could get my hands on some black vinyl I can create the image of the mounting ring around the pickup, and when it comes to transferring everything to its final home in the custom body the scratchplate can be recycled with the vinyl removed and the scratchplate reshaped to fit the image in my head.

God I scare myself some days. Now to find the bits.
